De Mùsica
This game is a part of my thesis project for my master degree in Universität Klafenfurt on Game Engineering and its purpose is to show how game sounds have changed over time, and also what psychological effects does sound have in human mind. This is a draft version which will get better by time but hopefully this version also helps set the idea of what I wanted to achieve with my thesis.
Main purpose of this game is to prove how has sound has effected players throughout time and how does it help players engage in a game flow. Of course this game is too short to help engage a user to get into the flow state but I would appreciate comments below this game for the couple of questions:
How do you think the sound has evolved from the first era to the last era of gaming?
What kind of feelings evoke when you play the games in three of these eras and would the sound help in engaging in the gameplay?
When you play the same games for the second time but without sound this time, how does the experience differ in your case, what would be one adjective to describe when you play games with sound?
Which era do you find the most engaging or better in terms of sound?
Do you think this game is helpful grasping the ideas of how the sound changed in different generations ?
Also why do you think sound is important for engaging in games, what comes to your mind first about this question?
Feel free to tell me about your experience with sound in games in the comments, would be greatly appreciated.
To start the game please run it on full screen mode like the screenshot
Game might not run on Windows and Linux computers also the second game (platformer game) is unfinished so enjoy the forever fall after you jump off the cliff.

Hello and cello, that was fun to play. It is been so long to play desktop games, full of nostalgia and finger reflexes.
Sound and visuals synced in a good way and immerse the player, room decors tell us what to find in specified era except 2000's. Illustration language can be more improved for 00's.
Overall it is good to spend time on these games.
It's fascinating when looking at the evolution of gaming sound to see how far we've come. In the first era (1980s and before), we had basic beeps and electronic noises due to technical constraints. The middle era (1990s) brought improvements with MIDI music, voice acting, and iconic soundtracks. Fast forward to the modern era (2000s onward), and we're experiencing high-fidelity audio, orchestrated music, and realistic sound effects that truly immerse us in the gaming environment. Each era evokes different feelings – from nostalgia in the first era to emotional engagement in the middle era, and heightened excitement in the modern era. Playing games without sound diminishes the immersive experience across all eras, losing crucial emotional and atmospheric dimensions. Personally, I find the modern era the most engaging due to its realistic audio and technological advancements. Exploring games across different eras not only brings back memories but also highlights the incredible journey of how sound has evolved and significantly contributed to the immersive nature of gameplay. Thank you for putting this experience together!
